Chocolate is popular among almost all people now. I also love chocolate very much. We eat one for a snack, use as subtle seasoning designed to bring out the flavor and use as ingredient in many foods or sweets.
Chocolate we eat usual is sweet, but the start of one is seed which is not sweet. It is cacao (kah KOW) which is a tropical tree with seeds that are used to make chocolate and cocoa; the seeds from this tree. I have never seen cacao, but I have known it color is yellow, and it is not sweet. The cacao tree grows in the shade of tropical rain forests near the equator. It is rain forests as expected. Other normal trees don’t stand strong heat, but cacao tree is very strong. The cacao comes a really long way to sweet chocolate from the vast forces of nature for everyone who desires a feeling of happiness.
Cacao trees are very fussy about environment where they grow. Cacao which can become delicious chocolate does not grow without being fulfilled 6 conditions. First, they need regular rainfall, so it is difficult for them to grow on sunny days. Secondly, they need steady warm temperatures, so if they are in Japan on winter, they will be annihilated. Thirdly, they need constant high humidity, so it will be a hell for them to live on a desert. Fourthly, they need partial shade. They avoid direct sunlight and do not emit humidity. Fifthly, they need rich and well-drained soil. Good soil is very important to grow good cacao trees. Finally, they need canopy trees to protect plants from wind and moisture loss. For wonderful trees, that everything throws a spanner into the growth must not absolutely. I wondered that the number of perfect cacao trees is small under these many conditions. Chocolate we eat as usual is very precious thing in a certain sense.
Researchers worry about a possible chocolate shortage in the future as I have expected. Cacao grows almost on small family farms. If they grow on large farms, there are a variety of crop or anything else, so the people who live there does not care cacao trees very well. Cacao trees should be cared really enough by farmers.
Having researched about growing chocolate, I found and noticed it is hard to complete perfect chocolate and that chocolate should be preserved carefully. The more I know one, the more I love it.
